(Disclaimer: Profanity.)

The dictatorship of Muhammed Bin Sulayem is the biggest threat to Max Verstappen’s title aspirations in the much-anticipated 2025 Formula 1 season.

That sentence is both beautiful and sad.

Beautiful because it highlights the racing prowess of Max Verstappen, cementing the Dutch driver as one of the GOATs of the sport.

At the same time, it is sad because it is, in fact, the unfortunate reality of the sport we all love.

Let’s dive into it to see how it can impact the Dutch driver’s championship campaign in the 2025 season.

How bad is the swearing ban

Basically, you will be penalized for these three reasons:

  1. Talking shit.

  2. Beating someone up.

  3. Starting beef.

And the penalties get more intense with each subsequent violation:

  1. First violation: €40,000 fine

  2. Second violation: €80,000 fine and a suspended one-month suspension

  3. Third violation: €120,000 fine, a one-month suspension, and potential deduction of championship points [1]

Hence, if a driver drops the f-bomb in each race in a triple-header, they are out of €240,000 and leave about 75 championship points because three races could easily go by in a month’s time.

Max Verstappen won the 2024 world championship by 63 points.

Max’s swearing saga and probable consequences

In the 2024 Hungarian GP, Verstappen had a heated exchange with his race engineer GP where he used the s-word and the f-word after a shit pitstop and conceding the second place to Lewis Hamilton after he collided with the seven-time world champion because he locked his fucking brakes. [2]

In the 2024 Singapore GP post-race presser, he claimed the car is effed after finishing 20 seconds behind race winner and his then championship rival Lando Norris. [3]

In the 2024 Abu Dhabi GP he received a 10-second penalty for hitting Oscar Piastri at T1 on the opening lap. On the radio, he called the stewards “stupid idiots” for giving him that penalty. [4]

I agree that the incident in Yas Marina occurred in the season finale, limiting its impact if he were to receive a one-month ban, but, in all honesty, that could’ve happened much earlier.

As triple-headers have become the norm, that translates to leaving at least 75 championship points on the board. Furthermore, you have to tally in the potential championship points deductions.

Considering the 2025 Formula 1 season will be a banger because the teams have figured each other out, that may very well drop Max from P1 to P6 in the standings.

Wrapping up: The dictator must be stopped

Muhammed Ben Sulayem’s inbred logic behind implementing the swearing regulations will do more than prevent the Dutch champion from securing his fifth consecutive title.

It may ruin F1 as we know it.

Drivers may be discouraged from attempting ambitious overtaking and defensive maneuvers as stressful situations increase the likelihood of swear word usage. This will also prevent our fans from experiencing the emotions that our favorite drivers are going through.

Essentially, the dictator is ruining the sport because he wants the money that will be used to bribe the member committees of the FIA that will vote for him again for the upcoming FIA presidential elections.

The ultimate goal of Ben Sulayem is to make radical changes to Formula 1 so that it becomes ripe and appropriate for a Middle Eastern acquisition.

Mark my words. Don’t be surprised if the Formula 1 Headquarters are shifted from London to Abu Dhabi.

Until next time,

Tara
